Second Princess Samiya Albert also won the prize for wearing the best evening gown.
The award for best effort in her beauty with a purpose project went to Sophie Rosette.
“I am very happy,” were the first words an emotional Miss Barbier could hardly utter after her crowning.
The 24-year-old accounts assistant from Cascade however managed to add that she “had sensed it coming as the evening unfolded”.
The good feeling had come after she had been also voted Miss Talent, Miss Personality and Miss Sports.
Apart from now on embarking on a one-year ambassadorial mission for her country which she will represent at international events, the new Miss Seychelles … Another World will also take part in the next Miss World beauty pageant.
Added to the crown which has been sponsored by Jouel, Miss Barbier has been pampered with a gift galore which includes R30,000 cash, a monthly allowance of R3,000, return tickets to Paris and Colombo, smart phones and talk time package, hotel stay, jewellery, beauty and fitness treats, diving and French courses, clothes, shoes and other accessories among other rewards.
